JVC has updated its popular Everio G series hard disk camcorders with a new colors and a "super-slim" design, making these among the world’s smallest hard drive camcorders on the market. Small is nice, but the new Everios also have new functions that make operation simpler and more intuitive.

A new Laser Touch, touch-sensitive scroll bar, located on the side of 2.7-inch widescreen LCD simplifies operations on all 2008 Everio G Series models. Moving a finger up or down on scroll bar allows you to browse through and select video clips to view or edit, as well as operate menus for camera set-up. The Everio G camcorders new high-resolution LCD display also features a new Auto LCD Backlight control.  These video cameras have a high performance F1.8 Konica Minolta Lens, which is also backed by JVC’s proprietary Gigabrid Engine with various noise reduction technologies to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. All of the 2008 Everio G camcorders are PictBridge compatible for direct printing, and include a microSD card slot and a USB.

The JVC Everio GZ-MG465 is a hard disk based camcorder that comes with a large 60GB hard drive, featuring a 1.07 megapixel CCD sensor. Picture quality of this camcorder is maximised by the use of an F1.8 Konica Minolta lens which captures precise, bright images. JVC proprietary Gigabrid Engine integrates various noise reduction technologies to improve the signal-to-noise ratio for greater image clarity. With a powerful 32x optical zoom, users can reach up close and personal with subjects of their desire from faraway distances without losing image quality.

The innovative Laser Touch Operation user interface is a touch-sensitive illuminated scroll bar just to the left of the LCD screen, simply moving a finger up or down along the scroll bar allows the user to browse through and select video clips to view or edit, and operate menus for camera set-up. The 2.7-inch widescreen LCD high resolution GUI is linked to Laser Touch movements, and the feature eliminates the risk of smudging or damaging the screen that users face with a touch-screen interface. Providing better LCD visibility when shooting outdoors, the display features a new Auto LCD Backlight Control.

The JVC Everio GZ-MG465 features PictBridge compatibility for direct printing, microSD card slot and USB mass storage compatibility. The JVC Data Battery allows remaining recording time to be displayed on the LCD even when the camera is off. Power-Linked Operation powers up the camcorder and engages the standby mode simply by opening the LCD, while the Quick Restart starts recording just about one second after the LCD is re-opened.
